Skansen Foundation

The Skansen Foundation (SF) was formed as a registered UK charity in 2007. It is funded through Skansen Interiors, which donates at least 10% of its profits to the Foundation.  SF invests in projects which form the basis of its CSR programme, which include:

  1. Sustainability Research
  2. Health & Safety Research
  3. Social Responsibility Investment

Its current areas of operation are:-

  • Supporting projects in Africa, through partnerships with local NGOs in Kenya, which benefit orphaned or destitute children.
  • Supporting the research and development of sustainability and environmental projects within the construction and real estate industries in the UK.

Current SF projects include: The development of two community homes in the North Imenti district of Meru, Kenya. The first building is complete with fundraising currently being undertaken for the second home to be built in 2012.  The current focus is to raise £125,000 to enable the new home in Ruiri to be built.  Donors can sponsor key elements of the new Community Home.

The Skansen Foundation trustees are directors and employees of Skansen.
